Two of the five re-entered the list after experiencing revenue spikes.
Five Dallas-Fort Worth entrepreneurs have been honored for leading some of the fastest growing women-owned or women-led companies in the nation.
Nina Vaca of Dallas-based Pinnacle Group, Kay Ivie of Flower Mound-based Ivie Associates Inc., Claudia Mirza of Plano-based Akorbi, Stephanie Point of Point 2 Point Global Security Inc. and Natalie Davis-Runyan of Dallas-based Anserteam Workforce Solutions secured spots in the 50 Fastest-Growing Women-Owned/Led Companies, an annual ranking released by the Women’s Presidents’ Organization, in Partnership with American Express.
The ranking was based on revenue growth from 2011 to 2015. Only companies that had at least $500,000 in revenue as of January 2011 were eligible.
New York City-based beverage manufacturer S’well, led by CEO Sarah Kauss, took the top spot. Its revenue jumped from $2.5 million in 2013 to $47.2 million in 2015. The business employs 40 people and is 100 percent owned by Kauss.
Pinnacle took the No. 2 ranking, dropping from the top spot it held last year. In 2015, the company passed the billion-dollar mark, generating $1.2 billion up from $201.5 million in 2013. Vaca owns 100 percent of Pinnacle, an IT workforce solutions company.
Marketing company Ivie Associates was ranked at No. 11, jumping from No. 18, with translation services firm Akorbi keeping also rising in rank – from No. 30 to No. 12. Point 2 Point Global Security Inc., which offers professional security services, was the 19thfastest growing company, jumping from the No. 50 spot in 2013, the last time it was on the list. Anserteam Workforce Solutions, which offers staffing resources, ranked No. 46, re-entering the list after dropping from the rankings last year.
Absent from this year’s list was Betty Manetta’s Argent Associates, a tech-centric, supply-chain management firm in Plano, which experienced a slow in the pace of growth due businesses’ choices to switch to a virtual network.
Two other texas companies also made the list: San Antonio-based InGensis Inc., led by Veronica Edwards, and Houston-based ICON Information Consultants LP, led by Pamela O’Rourke.
The 50 companies were honored in Baltimore, Maryland last week.
